This textbook instructs learners on how to rid themselves of poor reading habits such as vocalization and finger reading. Through the use of scientific reading methods, and accompanying exercises, learners will develop their sensitivity towards the Chinese language and read a greater amount faster, and more naturally. Articles selected include: 1) articles on topical subjects that cover issues concerning the international community and China’s society, and that will be found interesting by foreign students; 2) articles on scientific knowledge that cover the knowledge of nature and society.
