Acupuncture Clinical Notebook
Acupuncture is clearly underused in children: is it the carer's fear of causing pain, or the child's fear of feeling pain...?This is regrettable, given that children's energy systems are flexible and reactive, and that the response to acupuncture treatment using few needles is usually rapid and beneficial. This clinical notebook is largely based on the excellent Handbook of TCM Pediatrics by Bob Flaws and Pediatric Acupuncture by May Loo.There are very few references in the French-language literature on pediatric acupuncture. This book lists more than fifty conditions specific to children, which are approached in the form of synoptic tables. For each syndrome, the etiopathogenesis, the symptoms, the pulses, the condition of the tongue, the principles of treatment along with a selection of acupuncture points and a Chinese pharmacopeia formula are described.
