This workbook is an excellent complement to Vocabulaire expliqué du français . This exercises book, such as the reference book, has been designed for students of an intermediate or advanced level. The activities follow thus the same order as in the manual : - La vie des mots - Les mots dans la vie - Les mots et vous. The exercises are various and progressive ; they gather cloze tests, but also crosswords, riddles, word puzzles... Each lesson leads the student to the knowledge of the vocabulary through different phases : - first, the student considers the words (observation, association and classification exercises) - second, the students have to reformulate, in exercises aiming at clarifying the meaning of the words (definitions) and in composition exercises. - then, the student can assess himself/herself, thanks to many exercises and to the 5 appraisals that end up the chapters of the manual.
